History. Draper James is Nashville native Reese Witherspoon’s fashion brand, named for her grandparents Dorothea Draper and William James Witherspoon, and this 12South shop was its first-ever store when it opened in 2015. The stripes were painted to feel like a Southern porch awning and promptly became a pilgrimage site — on weekends the sidewalk queue for photos runs longer than the checkout line.
