About. A vintage-postcard mural at 704 Main Street — big letters stuffed with Nashville scenes.

History. Painted by Mobe Oner, one of East Nashville’s busiest muralists, for the Greek restaurant next door. Every letter hides a landmark: the Parthenon in the H, the Musica statue in the S, the skyline in the N. The nickname is real history — 19th-century Nashville earned ‘Athens of the South’ for its colleges and classical architecture, then doubled down by building an actual Parthenon.
