Wedgewood-Houston — WeHo to locals — is Nashville's factory floor turned art floor. The May Hosiery Mills made socks here for a century (and sent them to space with NASA); when the machines stopped, artists moved into the shells. Today the district holds the city's densest cluster of working studios, galleries and project spaces, and on First Saturday nights the whole neighborhood opens its doors for the art crawl. The walls between venues carry murals that change with the scene — come twice, see two different districts.
